Theodore William Moody
Theodore William Moody (26 November 1907 – 11 February 1984) was an Irish revisionist historian. He was educated at Royal Belfast Academical Institution and Queen's University Belfast. In 1930 he went to the Institute of Historical Research in London, and graduated with a PhD in 1934.〔Helen Mulvey, 'Theodore William Moody (1907-1984): an Appreciation', ''Irish Historical Studies'', XXIV, November 1984, pages 121 - 130.〕 He was Professor of Modern History at Trinity College, Dublin, from 1940 to 1977, when he became professor emeritus.〔(Dictionary of Ulster Biography )〕 With Robert Dudley Edwards, he founded ''Irish Historical Studies'' and The Irish Committee of Historical Sciences and began publication of ''A New History of Ireland''.〔Helen Mulvey, 'Theodore William Moody (1907-1984): an Appreciation', ''Irish Historical Studies'', XXIV, November 1984, pages 121 - 130.〕
